Natasha Khan Turns Down the Lights

"All Your Gold," from The Haunted Man, is the kind of Bat For Lashes song that doesn’t ask anything of you except to stop moving. Just piano, space, and Natasha Khan’s voice doing the thing it does—sounding simultaneously ancient and completely exposed. After the dense mythology of Two Suns, the record felt like a deliberate paring back: less theater, more wound. I kept returning to it that autumn, on the kind of afternoons where the light was already gone by four and there was nothing useful left to do with the day.
