Sky, Half-Present
Sad Dream sits in that specific Sky Ferreira register where the production sounds half-finished and her voice sounds like it walked in from a different, more honest song. She’d been at this for years by then—bouncing between labels, between sounds, between the commercial and the genuinely strange—and the best parts of her work always felt like something that survived a process rather than something designed. The track doesn’t resolve. It just stops, the way certain feelings do when you get tired of having them. I played it more times than made sense.
