The Machine in the Bassline

Brodinski built his name in the same dark corner of the French electronic scene as Gesaffelstein—heavy basslines, industrial pulse, the feeling that whatever is happening in that club is not quite pleasure and not quite pain but something between the two that your body understands better than your brain does. The Paris producer moved hard through the early part of the decade, and Dance Like Machines was never really a metaphor. It was a description. Literal. What happens to you when the kick drum lands exactly right.
