Maylee Todd is a Toronto musician who plays most of her own instruments, writes everything herself, and makes records that sound like they were assembled in a warm, slightly dusty room sometime in the early seventies—except she clearly knows exactly what she’s doing in the present. The sound is soul-adjacent, sometimes psychedelic, anchored by a voice that’s hard to place: warm but also a little strange, like something familiar heard through a wall.
