Slutever Was Always the Point
Karley Sciortino started the Slutever blog in a squat in London and never really stopped. The premise was simple—her life, her sex, her terms, documented in prose that was funny and explicit without being either confessional-therapy or look-at-me exhibitionism. She wrote about sleeping with multiple people, about kink, about the economics of desire, with the same flat matter-of-fact clarity you’d use to describe a bus journey. Later came the Vice column, the Viceland show, the book. But the blog was the thing—a genuine document of a person who decided that the usual bargains weren’t for her and lived accordingly. I’ve always respected that more than I’ve been able to admit out loud.
