Everything Soft, Nothing Apologized For

Arvida Byström’s photographs look like someone took the concept of girlhood and removed every apology from it. The Swedish photographer works in a territory where pastel palettes, body hair, and self-exposure coexist without irony, producing images that manage to be simultaneously naive and confrontational. Her world is pink and soft and completely self-possessed. Hard not to respond to that.
