Everything the Internet Deserved

Kate Upton in 2012 was the kind of presence the web didn’t quite know what to do with yet—clearly extraordinary, slightly too real for the high-fashion machine, more warmth than architecture. She’d just come off the Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover and a Carl’s Jr. commercial that broke the internet before breaking the internet was a figure of speech. Pairing her with a pile of puppies was either the most calculated thing imaginable or the most natural. Probably both. Either way I had no objections.
