Against the Default

HUB Footwear came out of Sweden with a fairly simple argument: that the shoe you reach for automatically—because everyone else wears it, because it’s the safe call—is still a choice, and probably not a very considered one. The brand’s minimalism wasn’t the quiet-luxury kind, where restraint signals money. It was more structural than that, almost confrontational. "Challenge The Obvious" was the campaign line, and for once it actually matched the design.
