Some arguments make themselves. Beyoncé in 2013 is one of them—the voice, the body, the way she occupies a stage like she personally commissioned its construction. Whatever ranking system you care to apply, she arrives at the top without effort. I’m not sure any other woman in pop has sustained that specific combination of technical precision and raw physical heat this consistently. The argument is just true.
