Cara Delevingne Could Ruin My Life and I’d Let Her
Watch the LA BOO commercial once and you spend the rest of the day trying to explain exactly what it is about Cara Delevingne. The dancing is ridiculous. The concept is basically nothing. But she does this thing where she looks directly at the camera with the expression of someone who finds the whole enterprise both stupid and completely worth her time, and it’s hard to look away.
She’s the person at the party who makes everyone else feel like they’re standing slightly wrong. Not on purpose—that would be obnoxious. Just constitutionally. Like the energy in her vicinity is calibrated differently. You get the sense she’d throw something at a stranger purely for the reaction and they’d end up grateful.
The clip is for a Japanese fashion label, and it mostly exists to prove that some people can make a brand campaign feel like it’s happening to them rather than for it. That’s a genuinely rare quality. I’ve watched it more times than I’d care to admit.
