Someone Finally Did It

You know that feeling after a long night of GTA V where you get into your actual car the next morning and the rules of real traffic seem almost advisory? The way you sit at a red light thinking about how low the consequences feel in the game compared to whatever they actually are out here? Most people let that feeling pass.

A guy in Chicago did not let it pass. After clipping a taxi, he just kept going—into other cars, around them, through whatever gaps presented themselves—with the kind of commitment to forward motion that suggests he either had a very specific destination or had simply decided that collisions were acceptable variables. The footage plays exactly like GTA V from inside a vehicle: methodical destruction, no apparent concern for what’s parked on either side, the occasional near-miss that somehow doesn’t stop anything.

I’m not celebrating it. Someone had a bad day because of this person. But I’d be lying if I said the video didn’t produce a flicker of recognition.
