Jesse and Jane, Framed

The Breaking Bad finale still hadn’t fully settled—one of those endings that keeps metabolizing for weeks, replaying scenes you didn’t know you’d memorized. Isabella Morawetz made a series of paintings from the show’s key moments, and they have exactly the quality that kind of work needs: they don’t compete with the source, they just hold the feeling still long enough for you to look at it properly.

She sold them on Society6, prints ranging from ten to fifty euros depending on size. My favorite is the one of Jesse and Jane side by side on the couch in front of the TV—that quiet moment before everything collapses. There’s something unbearable about it, in the best way. The whole series is like that.
