Don’t Blink (The Baby Version)

Patrick Ballesteros drew the Doctor Who cast as small children playing hide-and-seek with a Weeping Angel, and the joke works entirely because of how wrong it is. A Weeping Angel playing hide-and-seek is not a game anyone is winning—in the normal run of things, that round ends with everyone displaced sixty years into the past the moment the seeker closes their eyes. In Ballesteros’s version they’re all just small and soft and blissfully unaware of the physics of their situation. It’s the kind of fan art that earns its existence.

I’m only just into season six, which puts me deep in the Amy Pond era and very happy about that. Karen Gillan, forever. I’m not going near the comments until I’m through the 50th anniversary special—spoil me and I’ll find a way to be annoyed about it across a decade of the internet. Ätsch.
