Miley Cyrus Has a Strategy and It’s Working

At this point I’ve seen Miley Cyrus naked more often than I’ve seen myself in a mirror, which is either a testament to her work ethic or a statement about my morning routine. Here she is in W Magazine, 21 years old, bleached eyebrows, no bra, sprawled across whatever surface the photographer pointed her at, occasionally standing up long enough to let everything move freely. Deliberate or accidental—honestly, who cares anymore. What I know is that she manages to end up on this notebook every few weeks, and her two not-particularly-large arguments do most of the persuading. Whether that’s a calculated move on her part or just a natural consequence of being Miley Cyrus in 2014 is an open question. My bet is calculated. The bleached eyebrows alone suggest a level of intentionality that most people never bring to anything.
