The Dumbest Possible Version of Pikachu

Dutch artist Aniforce has apparently committed to one of the more specific creative missions I’ve come across: systematically making every Pokémon look as profoundly stupid as possible. Not evil, not menacing—just empty-eyed and slack-jawed and subtly wrong in a way that’s hard to pin down but instantly recognizable. He’s worked through the entire original 151, and the results are better than they have any right to be.

There’s something almost affectionate about it. The derp aesthetic works best when applied to things people genuinely love, because the joke lands differently when the subject matters. You’re not mocking the monsters; you’re mocking the part of yourself that cares about them. More of the series is over at Neatorama.
