Red Dragon Cheddar

Mathew Ramsey makes burgers that are genuinely hard to look at without your brain going somewhere else. His PornBurger project does exactly what the name suggests—food as object of desire, shot with the commitment of someone who fully means it—and the Kaleesi Burger, his Game of Thrones tribute, is one of his better ones. Red Dragon Cheddar packed with Welsh mustard seeds, shiitake bacon, the whole construction engineered to feel like something Daenerys Targaryen would approve before burning down an entire city.

The Game of Thrones angle is almost incidental to why it works. Any burger built around a cheese already called Red Dragon is doing something right on its own. But there’s something satisfying about the extra layer—the show in 2014 was at the point where every week felt like an event, where people were genuinely emotionally invested in the fate of a fictional Dothraki queen, and a burger named after her felt like a natural extension of that collective obsession. Pop culture as ingredient list.

Take me now, Mother of Dragons.
