Beer, Water Pistols, Open Road

Photographer Brooke Frederick took a group of women—including Instagram figure Abby Brothers—on a shooting trip across America. Sun beating down, cold beer in one hand, loaded water pistol in the other, road unspooling past cemeteries and junkyards and desert nowhere toward whatever lake came next. The images have that specific quality: a summer that exists only as forward momentum, never as a real afternoon you’d have to sit through.
