Booboo, Two Years Old, Excellent Taste in Eyewear

The internet’s relationship with small animals in accessories is one of the few constants I’ve come to rely on. Grumpy Cat, Lil Bub, Prince Chunk—each one a brief collective fixation that somehow outlasted the usual viral attention span. And now there’s Booboo, a two-year-old guinea pig who wears glasses and lives with two companions named Titi and Teddy, all three belonging to a woman named Megan who clearly has her priorities in order.

Reddit, the 9Gag contingent, Facebook—all briefly united around this small fluffy creature in spectacles, which might be the most accurately depressing and also most heartwarming thing about the internet at any given moment. You can’t manufacture what Booboo has. The glasses help. But there’s also just something in the expression—that specific guinea pig blankness that reads, in the right light, as complete and total wisdom.
