The Only Question Worth Asking at Fashion Week

A friend of mine—Ines—spent part of Berlin Fashion Week doing what journalists should do more often: asking the assembled models, designers, and dedicated recreational cocaine users a single clarifying question. Simon Desue, LeFloid, or Sami Slimani—who would you blow to save the world?

Better question than anything about silhouettes. The answers came fast and in volume. And if you’re Sami Slimani, grinning your way through every sponsored post, you probably don’t want to know how the vote went.

There’s something genuinely revealing about this kind of question in a fashion context. YouTube celebrity and the fashion world occupy adjacent but not quite overlapping territory—both built on image, both requiring an audience that believes the image is real. Asking who’s worth a blowjob cuts straight through the branding. Sami didn’t survive the cut.
