Not a Fashion Guy
Cheap Monday founder Örjan Andersson once told a journalist: I love fashion and I watch very closely how it evolves. But I’m not one of those people who sit in the front row at Chanel. I’m not a fashion guy.
His inspiration came from the streets of Stockholm, where the brand started—not the runway, not the press, just actual people walking around outside in the cold.
That attitude is legible in the clothes. The Swedish label built its name on well-cut, affordable denim at a moment when premium denim had gotten genuinely absurd, and the same logic carries into the knitwear: good proportions, colors that go with everything, no branding on the outside. Functional objects that don’t apologize for being functional.
Winter is winter. Sometimes a good scarf is enough.
