Everything I Need Is Super Nintendo-Shaped
If money were no object, I’d own everything in Super Nintendo form. Shoes, phone case, furniture, car, house—all of it. Secret of Mana. Super Mario World. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. The SNES gave me more pure, uncomplicated happiness than nearly anything that came after, and I’ve spent the subsequent decades chasing that feeling with diminishing returns.
Most of those product fantasies will stay fantasies, for obvious structural reasons. But this officially licensed SNES controller bifold wallet from Merchoid is a real object that actually exists in the world and costs around twenty euros. Grey body, four-color button detail, the whole aesthetic intact. It looks exactly like the controller I wore through my childhood. That I can put it in my back pocket and carry it to a supermarket is genuinely moving to me in a way I’m not going to apologize for.
A small start. But a start.
